A Jamaican national has pleaded guilty to drug trafficking charges after police and customs officers intercepted 41 pounds of cannabis at Antigua's Deep Water Harbour in 2024, according to Antigua Observer.

The controlled substance was discovered concealed inside two boxes during a joint operation at the country's main seaport on March 8, 2024. The seizure was the result of coordinated efforts between law enforcement and customs officials.

The cannabis was valued at an undisclosed amount. The accused entered a guilty plea following the charges stemming from the harbour bust.

As reported by Antigua Observer, the case highlights ongoing efforts by local authorities to intercept drug shipments passing through Antigua and Barbuda's primary port of entry.
