The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) says crews are actively working to restore electricity across the island following a widespread outage triggered by a fault on the Cassada #2 Feeder near a substation.

According to Antigua News Room, APUA confirmed in a public update that the fault caused a brief collapse of the electrical system, resulting in an island-wide outage affecting customers across Antigua.

The utility authority said restoration work is progressing steadily and estimated that normal operations should be fully restored within approximately one and a half to two hours.

APUA also issued an apology to affected customers for the inconvenience caused, thanking them for their patience and understanding as crews work to safely bring service back online.
