Police are investigating a violent altercation between two co-workers at a restaurant in Sutherlands that left both employees injured. According to Antigua News Room, the incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Thursday at a food business located near the Clarevue Psychiatric Hospital.

Officers responding to the scene found a 35-year-old man from Sutherlands with an injury to his right hand. An 18-year-old woman from Hodges Bay also sustained minor injuries to her back, chest, and right forearm, and complained of pain to her neck.

Investigators were told the confrontation began as an argument between the two employees while they were on the premises. The man alleged he was stabbed in the hand during the dispute.

The woman, however, provided police with a markedly different account of events. She claimed the male co-worker had repeatedly been bothering her prior to the incident and alleged that he struck her in the head with a pot before using an electrical power strip to beat her.

Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
