Randy Baltimore has officially assumed his duties as Minister of State in the Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Fisheries and the Blue Economy, identifying collaboration and support for farmers and fishers as key priorities in his new role.

Baltimore marked his first day on the job by joining Agriculture Minister Anthony Smith Jr. in meetings with the ministry's Permanent Secretary and technical staff. Discussions centred on strengthening the systems that support the agricultural and fisheries sectors while advancing the ministry's development goals.

"The meeting focused on collaboration, development, and strengthening the systems that support our farmers, fishers, and the wider agricultural sector," Baltimore wrote in a social media post following the meetings.

The new minister expressed eagerness to work closely with the ministry's team to build sustainable opportunities and continue advancing the sector for the benefit of the country.

Baltimore's appointment comes as the government presses forward with efforts to expand food security initiatives and strengthen Antigua and Barbuda's blue economy sector.
