Health Minister Michael Joseph personally funded and delivered gift baskets to nurses at public health clinics across Antigua on Wednesday, marking Nurses Week 2026 with a show of appreciation for the country's frontline healthcare workers.

According to Antigua News Room, Minister Joseph — who holds the portfolio of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs — visited multiple clinics throughout the day, presenting the gifts as a personal gesture rather than a government-funded initiative.

Nurses at twelve clinics received gift baskets during Wednesday's round of visits. The facilities included the Grays Farm Clinic, Villa Polyclinic, Cedar Grove Clinic, Judges Hill Clinic, Clare Hall Clinic, Pigotts Clinic, Parham Clinic, All Saints Clinic, Glanvilles Clinic, Potters Clinic, Bendals Clinic, and Brownes Avenue Clinic.

Minister Joseph expressed sincere gratitude for the critical role nurses play within the national healthcare system, noting that their commitment and professionalism remain essential to the delivery of quality healthcare services across Antigua and Barbuda.

The Minister indicated that visits will continue on Thursday until all 22 operational clinics have received their gift baskets. He extended warm wishes to nurses throughout the twin-island nation for a meaningful and successful Nurses Week 2026, commending them for their outstanding contribution to national healthcare and the countless lives they impact each day.
