Jonathan Wehner, the Public Relations Officer for the United Progressive Party (UPP), has been officially appointed to the Senate, making him one of the youngest individuals ever to serve in Antigua and Barbuda's Upper House of Parliament.
According to Antigua Observer, the 24-year-old legal scholar received his instrument of appointment at Government House on Monday, on the recommendation of the opposition.
Wehner's appointment marks a notable moment for youth representation in the country's legislature, with the young politician now taking his seat as the opposition's voice in the Senate.
