Police are investigating a home invasion robbery at Penny Lane, Upper Fort Road, after two masked men allegedly forced their way into a residence and stole cash, mobile phones, and identification documents in the early hours of May 5, 2026. According to Antigua.news, the incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. and prompted the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to launch an active inquiry.

The male complainant told officers he was asleep in his south-western bedroom when an armed intruder woke him. He described the suspect as approximately six feet tall and slim, dressed in a black shirt and black ski mask, and carrying a machete.

The victim reported that the intruder demanded a black shoulder bag he was wearing. A struggle followed, during which he observed a second masked individual inside the home dragging his female roommate into the hallway.

The first suspect ultimately seized the shoulder bag, which contained approximately EC$500, US$200, several government identification cards, a TCL cellular phone valued at EC$300, and a Toyota Porte vehicle key.

The female occupant provided a separate statement to police. She told officers she was in bed using her iPhone 15 Pro when a man wearing a dark hoodie, long black pants, sneakers, and a red ABLP scarf over his face confronted her. That suspect, also armed with a machete, snatched her phone and demanded money.

She further alleged that the intruder searched a chest of drawers and stole EC$350, before dragging her into the hallway where she witnessed the second suspect and the struggle involving her housemate.

Both men reportedly fled through a southern living room door, taking all stolen items with them.

Investigators later found evidence of forced entry at the property. A mosquito gauze had been removed from an eastern push-up window, which was closed but unlocked, providing the suspects with access to the home.

Police searched the surrounding area but were unable to locate the suspects or recover the stolen property. Crime scene investigators processed the residence, and inquiries are ongoing.
