The family of slain teenager Kahleel Simon is once again preparing to take their calls for justice to the steps of Police Headquarters, according to Antigua.news, as frustration mounts over what relatives describe as a lack of transparency in the investigation into his death.
A flyer circulating on social media announces a "Justice for Kahleel Simon" picket scheduled for Friday, May 29 at 3:00 p.m. outside Police Headquarters on American Road. The demonstration is being organised by Simon's family and supporters, who have vowed to keep protesting until they receive what they believe are clear answers and accountability surrounding his death.
Simon, an 18-year-old resident of Bolans, was shot and killed by police on August 27, 2025 — the same day he celebrated his birthday. His death sparked outrage in Bolans and surrounding communities, with relatives alleging that he was not given a proper opportunity to surrender before deadly force was used.
Since the fatal shooting, the family has organised at least four major demonstrations outside Police Headquarters and other locations, each time demanding greater transparency into the investigation. The upcoming picket is expected to draw relatives, friends, community members, and supporters carrying placards and calling for accountability from authorities.
Police have previously confirmed that the matter remains under investigation. However, Simon's family has repeatedly expressed frustration over what they consider to be slow progress and a lack of meaningful public updates on the case, making clear they have no intention of standing down.
