Deputy Commissioner of Police Louisa Benjamin-Quashie is representing the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda at the 40th Annual General Meeting and Conference of the Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police (ACCP) in Paramaribo, Suriname, from May 11 to 15, 2026.

This is the first time DCP Benjamin-Quashie has attended the prestigious regional conference in her capacity as Deputy Commissioner of Police.

The official opening ceremony took place Monday at the Royal Torarica Resort in Paramaribo. It brought together Commissioners of Police and senior law enforcement officials from across the Caribbean, alongside government officials and heads of security agencies from Suriname.

The conference is being held under the theme: "Organised Crime: Implications for Regional Development." The programme includes plenary sessions, panel discussions, and strategic meetings focused on transnational organised crime, firearms trafficking, cybercrime, intelligence-led policing, regional security cooperation, and the application of artificial intelligence in modern law enforcement.

The ACCP conference serves as a key platform for strengthening regional partnerships, enhancing collaboration among Caribbean law enforcement agencies, and developing collective strategies to address emerging security threats across the region.

The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda reaffirmed its commitment to building strong regional and international partnerships aimed at improving public safety, enhancing operational effectiveness, and promoting professional policing standards throughout the Caribbean.
