Ten of eleven government senators were officially sworn in at Government House on Wednesday, receiving their instruments of appointment just one week after the general elections, according to Antigua Observer.

Prime Minister Gaston Browne selected the individuals appointed to the Upper House. Director General of Communications Maurice Merchant confirmed that 17 senators will be appointed in total when the full process is complete.

The swearing-in ceremony marks a key step in the formation of the new government following last week's general elections.
