More than 200 volunteer positions remain unfilled as Antigua and Barbuda ramps up preparations for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), scheduled for November 1–4, 2026 in St John's.
According to Antigua Observer, High Commissioner Karen-Mae Hill stressed that the summit will require a "whole of government" and a "whole of country" effort, with volunteers set to play a critical role in the success of the landmark event.
The call to action comes as organizers seek to mobilise citizens across the twin-island nation to support what is expected to be one of the most significant international gatherings ever hosted on Antiguan soil. CHOGM brings together heads of government from across the Commonwealth, drawing global diplomatic attention and considerable logistical demands.
With the event still more than a year away, authorities are urging eligible citizens to come forward and secure one of the available volunteer opportunities before positions are filled. The emphasis on broad national participation reflects the scale of the summit and the importance officials have placed on community involvement in its delivery.
