A High Court judge has ordered the appointment of an independent handwriting expert to examine the signature on the contested will of the late St Peter Member of Parliament Asot Michael, according to Antigua Observer.

Michael, who was 54 years old, was found dead at his Dry Hill home on November 5th, 2024. Following his passing, a legal dispute arose over the authenticity of his will.

The court's decision to bring in an independent expert signals a formal judicial process to resolve questions surrounding the legitimacy of the signature on the document. As reported by Antigua Observer, the appointment of the handwriting specialist is intended to provide an objective assessment of whether the signature is genuine.
