The Treasury Department has issued retroactive pay to eligible public sector workers across all Ministries and Departments as of Wednesday, April 29.

The disbursements span the full breadth of the public service. Departments confirmed as having received payments include the Office of the Governor General, the House of Representatives, the Cabinet Office, the Judicial Department, the Public Service Commission, the Office of the Auditor General, and the Electoral Commission.

Also included are the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Prison Service, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Surveys Department, the Development Control Authority, the Ministry of Works, and the Labour Department. The Ministry of Tourism, the Land Registry, and eligible pensioned and separated public servants have likewise received their payments.

Further departments confirmed in the payout include the Central Board of Health, the Ministry of Sports, the Prices and Consumers Affairs Division, the Bureau of Standards, the Culture and Festivals Division, the Office of the National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), and the Office of the Prime Minister.

The Ministry of Education — encompassing ABICE, ABIIT, ASC, Primary and Secondary schools, and its Headquarters and Administration — is also on the list, along with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Social Transformation, and the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology.

Security and justice sector agencies covered include the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force, Immigration, the Civil Registry, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Family Court, the Ministry of Health, Emergency Medical Services, the Magistrate Court, the Police, the Fire Service, the Passport Office, Public Safety, and the Post Office.

The Treasury Department has been aiming to complete the bulk of retroactive pay disbursements within the month of April 2026. A further update is expected on May 15.
