A 23-year-old Antigua man has been remanded to prison following his appearance in court on multiple serious charges connected to a shooting along Queen Elizabeth Highway. According to Antigua.news, Nathaniel Santana of Hatton, Gray's Farm, faced the charges before Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel at the St. John's Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
Santana was charged with Shooting with Intent to Murder, Discharging a Firearm in a Public Place, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
The charges stem from an incident that allegedly took place on Sunday, April 26, during which police say Santana unlawfully and maliciously shot at a 32-year-old man from Gray's Farm. Investigators have not yet disclosed the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Following the hearing, Chief Magistrate Emanuel remanded Santana to His Majesty's Prison. The matter has been adjourned until June 18, 2026.
Police confirmed that investigations into the incident are ongoing.
