The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda has arrested several individuals following a series of early morning operations in the Freetown and Collins areas on Wednesday, May 6.

At approximately 4:05 a.m., officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Task Force, supported by the K-9 Unit, executed a search warrant at a premises in Freetown. During the search, officers discovered and seized one modified flare gun, several rounds of ammunition, and a camouflage shirt. Two individuals were subsequently arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition and taken into custody.

In a separate operation, officers from the Gang and Guns Suppression Unit (GAGSU), the Special Services Unit (SSU), and the CID Task Force searched a farm on Collins Road. Two foreign nationals were taken into custody and transported to the St. John's Police Station, where they are assisting with ongoing investigations, including immigration-related inquiries.

A further search was carried out at a property in Collins, where officers recovered one firearm, two matching magazines, and three rounds of ammunition. The items were seized, and one individual was arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Investigations into all three incidents remain ongoing.
