All 15 successful candidates of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) have been sworn in as ministers or junior ministers, marking the start of Prime Minister Gaston Browne's fourth consecutive term in office. According to Antigua News Room, the swearing-in ceremony was held Tuesday at the American University of Antigua, following the party's decisive general election victory in which it secured 15 of the 17 available seats.

Despite reappointing ministers to their existing portfolios, Prime Minister Browne signalled that a Cabinet reshuffle could take place as early as January 2027. He indicated the current arrangement was designed to ensure continuity, with several ministers already leading significant national projects.

Foreign Affairs Minister E. P. Chet Greene is among those continuing in place, currently overseeing preparations for the 2026 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. Education Minister Daryll Matthew will press ahead with plans to expand the UWI Five Islands Campus.

Browne also pointed to ongoing efforts to resolve utility challenges, particularly water supply issues, under ICT, Utilities and Energy Minister Melford Nicholas. Housing and Works Minister Maria Browne remains responsible for a nationwide road and infrastructure programme.

Several new and returning ministers were assigned portfolios immediately following the election. These include Charles Fernandez in Tourism, Anthony Smith in Agriculture, Dwayne George in Sports, and Michael Joseph in Health, among others. Attorney General Steadroy Benjamin had been sworn in ahead of the broader ceremony.

While the Cabinet remains largely unchanged from its previous configuration, the Prime Minister made clear that adjustments are likely as his administration moves deeper into its new term.
