Newly appointed Minister of State in the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Investments and Transportation Michael Freeland says his years as Deputy Chairman of the National Festivals Commission have laid the groundwork for a smooth transition into government.
Freeland stated he intends to absorb institutional knowledge from Minister Charles Fernandes, who has led the ministry for 12 years. While drawing on that experience, Freeland says he will direct his own focus toward infrastructure development — including the rehabilitation of the MAPA airport tower, expansion of the Barbuda Airport, and the development of new port facilities.
