The Ministry of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs has welcomed Michael Joseph as its new minister, effective May 5, 2026.
The ministry extended congratulations to Joseph as he assumes leadership of the portfolio, describing it as one that plays a critical role in national life. "This portfolio plays a critical role in safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our nation, advancing environmental sustainability, and strengthening the public service," the ministry stated.
Joseph now holds responsibility across three broad areas: healthcare delivery, environmental management, and civil service affairs — a wide-ranging mandate that touches virtually every sector of government service.
The ministry expressed confidence in the new minister and outlined its expectations for his tenure. "We look forward to working under his guidance and vision to continue delivering high-quality healthcare, promoting national wellness, protecting our environment, and enhancing service delivery across the civil service," it said.
The ministry concluded by wishing Joseph success as he begins what it called "a new chapter of service to our country."
