The president of the Antigua and Barbuda Association of People with Disabilities (ABAPD) is calling for stronger representation of disabled residents across various industries in the country.

According to Antigua Observer, Bernard Warner stressed the urgency of the issue, stating: "It's very important that we have representation specifically for people with disabilities. As you know, we have seen over the years that many of the concerns" of disabled individuals have gone unaddressed.

Warner's remarks highlight a longstanding challenge facing the disabled community in Antigua and Barbuda — that without dedicated representation in key sectors, the needs and concerns of people with disabilities risk being overlooked or deprioritised.
