The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission has extended its congratulations to Gaston Browne following his re-election to a fourth consecutive term as Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, according to Antigua News Room.
The regional body described the achievement as a milestone reflecting continued public confidence in Browne's leadership amid what it characterised as an increasingly volatile global environment. The OECS noted that his tenure has been defined by efforts to strengthen fiscal stability, sustain tourism recovery, and pursue international economic diplomacy — qualities it identified as essential to the governance of small island states.
Browne's renewed mandate carries significance beyond Antigua and Barbuda's borders. The country is preparing to assume the Chairmanship of the OECS Authority, a role that will position the Prime Minister at the centre of the region's push for deeper integration, greater self-reliance, and more strategic engagement on the world stage.
The OECS Commission reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with Browne and his incoming government to address shared challenges, strengthen cooperation among Member States, and advance a unified regional voice.
The organisation expressed its best wishes for the new term and said it looks forward to his leadership in shaping a more secure and integrated future for the Eastern Caribbean region.
