Queenela Williams, representing St. Mary's South, has been crowned the 2026 Labour Queen after defeating 13 contestants in the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party's annual pageant on Saturday night.
According to Antigua News Room, the competition was held under the theme "Echoes of the Past: Rhythm, Soul, Spirit," drawing delegates from constituencies across the country. Contestants showcased their poise, talent and stage presence throughout the evening.
Tonya Phillip claimed the first runner-up position, finishing behind Williams at the conclusion of the keenly contested event.
The field of competitors included representatives from St. John's Rural West, St. John's Rural East, St. John's City West, All Saints East and St. Luke, St. Philip North, All Saints West, St. George, St. John's Rural South, St. Paul, St. John's Rural North, and several other constituencies.
Organizers had previously described the contestants as a group of "phenomenal delegates," with weeks of preliminary activities — including promotional appearances and community engagement — building anticipation ahead of the pageant.
The Labour Queen pageant forms part of the ABLP's annual Labour Day celebrations and is regarded as a key cultural event on the party's calendar. Williams now carries the title of Labour Queen 2026, representing the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party over the coming year.
