Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez has formally congratulated Prime Minister Gaston Browne on his re-election, according to Antigua News Room, reinforcing the warm diplomatic ties between the two Caribbean nations.

In a letter dated 1 May from Havana, President Díaz-Canel extended his "warmest congratulations and best wishes for your success" to Prime Minister Browne, while also acknowledging the broader electoral victory of his party.

The Cuban president stated that the message was conveyed on behalf of both the government and the people of Cuba, and expressed confidence in Prime Minister Browne's continued leadership of Antigua and Barbuda.

Díaz-Canel also used the letter to reaffirm Cuba's commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, underscoring the values of cooperation, solidarity and longstanding friendship that have defined ties between the two nations. "Please accept my highest regards and esteem," the letter concluded.
