Sir Steadroy "Cutie" Benjamin of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) has decisively retained the St. John's City South constituency, capturing 72.6% of the vote in Thursday's general elections, according to Antigua News Room.
Benjamin defeated his United Progressive Party (UPP) challenger, Adrian Williams, in what amounted to a commanding performance that underscored his enduring support in the constituency.
With 88% of votes counted, Benjamin had secured 854 votes compared to Williams' 337. A total of 43 ballots were rejected.
The result further cements Benjamin's long-standing dominance in St. John's City South and reinforces the ABLP's hold on the seat.
