Lamin Newton has expressed gratitude to his supporters following his unsuccessful bid in Antigua and Barbuda's general election, pledging to remain committed to the constituency of All Saints East and St Luke (ASESL).
According to Antigua News Room, Mr Newton released a statement thanking the 1,239 voters who supported his campaign, describing himself as "truly grateful" for the trust placed in him despite the unfavourable result.
In his statement, Mr Newton acknowledged the support, encouragement and belief shown throughout the campaign, saying it meant "more than words can express."
He was clear that the defeat would not signal a withdrawal from public life. "This is not the end," he said, affirming that his connection with constituents and his commitment to the ASESL constituency would endure beyond the election cycle.
The result forms part of a broader electoral contest across Antigua and Barbuda, with several closely watched races continuing to shape the nation's political landscape.
