Vote counting is underway in Barbuda, with incumbent Trevor Walker of the Barbuda People's Movement (BPM) holding an early lead over Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) challenger Kendra Beazer, according to Antigua News Room.
Initial results from box 1 show Walker ahead with 128 votes to Beazer's 78, as ballot counting continues following the close of polls earlier this evening.
Walker, a longstanding representative for Barbuda, is seeking to retain his seat amid a renewed challenge from the ABLP's Beazer.
Counting remains ongoing, and officials have not yet released final figures.
