The Medical Association of Antigua and Barbuda (MAAB) is mourning the loss of retired General Surgeon Dr. Ramamurthi Bekal, who passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. He was 94 years old.
According to Antigua Observer, the MAAB, along with the broader medical fraternity, has extended its deepest sympathies to Dr. Bekal's family, friends, and colleagues in the wake of his passing.
"Dr. Bekal was a pillar of the medical community," the MAAB said in its tribute, reflecting the esteem in which he was held by those who worked alongside him throughout his distinguished career.
