Daryll S. Matthew, the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) candidate for St. John's Rural South, has issued an urgent warning to voters after reports emerged of misleading phone calls directing electors to incorrect polling stations on Election Day.

According to Antigua News Room, individuals claiming to be affiliated with the ABLP have been contacting voters and providing false information about where they should cast their ballots. Matthew made the warning public in a message shared this morning.

"Persons have been receiving phone calls from persons claiming to be from the ABLP and have been sending persons to incorrect polling stations," Matthew said, urging voters to rely only on verified information.

Matthew also took the opportunity to outline the correct polling arrangements for the constituency, breaking them down by district.

In District A — covering Ottos New Town, Radio Range and All Saints Road — voters are assigned to Minoah Magnet Academy.

District B, which includes Tindale Road, De Souza Road, Kentish Road and Lower Ottos, has a split arrangement based on surname. Voters with last names beginning A to J are directed to Tindale Seventh-day Adventist Church, while those with last names from K to Z are assigned to the PDO building at Ben Dung.

Residents of District C — encompassing Nut Grove, Golden Grove, Golden Grove Extension, Creek Side and Creek Side Extension — are to vote at Golden Grove Primary School.

Matthew urged all residents to verify their assigned polling station and to disregard unsolicited phone calls, particularly on such a critical day. Polling stations opened at 6 a.m. across Antigua and Barbuda as voters turned out for what is expected to be a closely watched general election.
