The Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) has announced extended operating hours at registration units nationwide to help eligible voters collect their voter identification cards ahead of Election Day.
According to Antigua.news, the Commission issued a notice advising that all registration units will remain open until 10 p.m. to give electors additional time to retrieve their cards.
However, the renewal process for voter ID cards will close earlier, at 7 p.m. Electors seeking to renew or replace their cards are urged to take note of that earlier cut-off time.
ABEC Public Relations Officer Elisa Graham encouraged all individuals who have applied for replacement or renewed cards to make use of the extended collection window and collect their documents before the deadlines pass.
The extended hours form part of the Commission's broader efforts to ensure that all eligible voters are properly equipped to participate in the upcoming electoral process.
Electors are reminded that a valid voter identification card is mandatory in order to cast a ballot. Voter ID cards are currently being collected at a vigorous pace as Election Day approaches.
