After six years of waiting, justice came swiftly. According to Antigua Observer, a jury has found Saleim Harrigan guilty of the murder of senior Customs officer Nigel Christian — the man who was dragged from his McKinnons home at gunpoint in broad daylight as his mother watched in horror.

Harrigan's two co-accused, Wayne Thomas and another defendant, also faced the court in connection with the case, as reported by Antigua Observer.

The verdict, when delivered, took only seconds — a stark contrast to the years of legal proceedings that preceded it. Christian's abduction from his home in broad daylight, witnessed by his own mother, had shocked the nation and cast a long shadow over the community.

The conviction brings a measure of closure to a case that has gripped Antigua and Barbuda since the killing of the senior Customs official, whose abduction and murder drew widespread public attention and raised serious concerns about violent crime in the country.
