Democratic National Alliance leader Joanne Massiah has publicly thrown her support behind Lamin Newton, the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party candidate in the All Saints East and St Luke constituency, ahead of the upcoming general election.

According to Antigua News Room, Massiah made the endorsement during a meet-and-greet event on Monday night, where she openly encouraged constituents to back Newton's candidacy in what is expected to be a closely contested race.

The move carries significant political weight given Massiah's history of sharp criticism toward the ABLP. Since founding the DNA in 2017 following her departure from the United Progressive Party, she has consistently positioned her party as an alternative to both of Antigua and Barbuda's dominant political groupings.

Eyewitnesses at the event reported that Massiah made a direct appeal to voters in the constituency, calling on them to support Newton at the polls.
