The Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) has recorded 1,606 voter ID replacement applications in the week of April 19–25, 2026, as the country prepares for General Elections on April 30. According to Antigua.news, the figures were outlined in ABEC's official weekly report and reflect a sustained effort by electors to meet the mandatory voter identification requirement.

Daily replacement application counts varied considerably throughout the week, ranging from a low of 89 at the start of the period to a peak of 393, before tapering to 73 by Saturday. In addition to replacements, ABEC recorded 178 new voter registration applications over the same period, reflecting continued participation from first-time voters.

Several constituencies reported strong activity during the week. St. John's Rural West led with 168 applications, followed by St. George with 165 and All Saints West with 150. Other notably active areas included St. Mary's North with 153 applications, St. John's Rural North with 130, and St. John's Rural East with 124. At the lower end, St. Philip North recorded just 14 applications, while Barbuda recorded 19.

Cumulative data up to April 25 places the monthly total of voter ID replacement applications at 31,909, underscoring the scale of the nationwide exercise. Among all constituencies, St. Peter leads with a 92% completion rate — the highest in the country — while most other constituencies fall within the 60% to 70% range.

With Election Day just days away, ABEC continues to stress that no elector will be permitted to vote without a valid voter identification card. Election officials are urging any remaining cardholders who have not yet completed the replacement process to do so immediately, as the window to participate in the upcoming vote rapidly narrows.
