The Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) has issued a public reminder about legal restrictions on the sale and distribution of alcohol in the lead-up to the upcoming general elections.

According to Antigua Observer, ABEC Public Relations Officer Elisa Graham delivered the reminder during Observer Media's programme, Big Issues, on Sunday. Graham cited provisions under the Representation of the People Act as the legal basis for the restrictions.

The reminder signals ABEC's intent to ensure that the public and businesses are fully aware of their obligations under electoral law as election day approaches.
