Thousands of supporters turned out Saturday night for the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party's "Red and Reddy" concert at the Rising Sun Grounds, as the governing party made one of its most visible final pushes ahead of the 30 April general election.
According to Antigua News Room, the grounds were packed with party faithful dressed in red, as the event combined live entertainment with campaign messaging in the closing days of the election race.
The night's lineup featured a range of prominent Caribbean and local performers, including Masicka, Sizzla, Burning Flames, Destra Garcia, Asa Bantan, Claudette Peters and Tian Winter. Supporters waved flags, sang and danced well into the night as the concert served simultaneously as a political rally aimed at building momentum for the ABLP.
The concert is not the party's only major pre-election activity. Organisers are also planning an island-wide "megacade" — a large motorcade event — designed to deliver a final, visible show of support before voters head to the polls.
Together, the events reflect an intensified push by the ABLP as political parties across Antigua and Barbuda make their closing appeals to the electorate in advance of election day on 30 April.
