Two United Progressive Party candidates have outlined an ambitious governance platform centred on a community security mobile application and a comprehensive overhaul of the national healthcare system, as Antigua and Barbuda prepares for General Elections on March 30th.
According to Antigua Observer, Emanuel Peters and Harold Lovell presented their proposals during an appearance on Observer AM on Friday, arguing that the current administration has fallen short in both public safety and healthcare delivery.
The candidates put forward a new community security application as a key pillar of their platform, positioning the digital tool as a means of improving responsiveness between residents and authorities. Alongside the technology initiative, Peters and Lovell called for a localised restructuring of the healthcare system, signalling that constituency-level needs would be central to any reforms pursued under a UPP government.
Both candidates framed their proposals as part of a broader vision for a more responsive government — one they contend the current administration has failed to deliver. The announcements come at a critical moment, with voters set to head to the polls in the country's general elections on March 30th.
