More than 50 students from Five Islands Primary School participated in a Caribbean-wide guided mindfulness programme organised by the Sandals Foundation (SF) to mark Earth Day, joining over 300 children across nine Caribbean islands in the initiative.
The Sandals Foundation announced that activities took place at Wallings Dam and surrounding natural areas, forming part of a structured nature trail designed to build environmental awareness while supporting student mental wellbeing.
The programme, described as a mindfulness nature trail, represents a regional effort by the Foundation to connect young people with the natural environment through guided, purposeful outdoor experiences. By combining ecological education with mindfulness practices, the initiative targets both conservation values and the psychological health of participating children.
The Earth Day timing underscores the Foundation's commitment to environmental stewardship across the Caribbean, with the simultaneous rollout across nine islands reflecting the scale and coordination of the effort.
