The Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) has outlined the responsibilities of officials who will oversee the voting process in the upcoming general election, according to Antigua News Room.
The Commission emphasised that all election workers are required to operate with fairness and impartiality to ensure a credible electoral process.
At the constituency level, the Returning Officer holds primary responsibility for supervising all polling stations and ensuring compliance with electoral laws.
Each individual polling station will be managed by a Presiding Officer, whose duties include issuing ballots, guiding voters through the process, and assisting those who require support — including persons with disabilities.
Presiding Officers are supported by Poll Clerks, who handle administrative tasks, and Information Clerks, who provide directions and answer voter questions.
ABEC stated that all officials must carry out their duties under oath and are required to maintain strict neutrality throughout the process.
The Commission added that the professionalism of election workers will be critical to delivering an orderly, transparent, and accessible vote on April 30.
