Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) candidate for St. George, Michael Freeland, has publicly condemned the destruction of one of his campaign banners in Potters, linking the incident to a wider pattern of vandalism targeting his campaign materials. According to Antigua News Room, the banner was torn down following a United Progressive Party (UPP) rally in the area.

Freeland disclosed the incident in a social media post shared Friday. "My banner in Potters was ripped off after the UPP rally last night. This is only the latest act of vandalism, following the taking down of posters and other campaign materials in East Berlin and other areas," he wrote.

The candidate issued a direct call for the behaviour to stop. "I condemn these acts, and further call on any individuals involved in such activities, in St. George or any other constituencies, to desist," Freeland said.

Rather than allow the incidents to derail his campaign, Freeland sought to redirect attention to his platform and vision for the constituency. "My record, plans and vision for this great constituency are clear. I call upon my supporters and well-wishers to remain resolute and focused as we gear up to take St. George into a New Era, on election day – April 30th," he said.

He closed his post with a rallying message to supporters: "Together We Stand!"

The ABLP shared Freeland's post as campaigning across Antigua and Barbuda intensifies ahead of the April 30 general election.
