The Office of the Chief Health Inspector is appealing to the public for help in locating the next of kin of three deceased individuals currently being held in storage at Barnes Funeral Home, according to Antigua News Room.
The three individuals, whose names were published as part of the official notice, passed away on dates noted in the announcement. Families or relatives of the deceased are urged to come forward as soon as possible to make private burial arrangements.
Family members may contact Ms. Jessica Barnes, Managing Director of Barnes Funeral Home, located on Irwing Barnes Close, American Road, by telephone at 462-1037 to arrange for a private burial.
Authorities have set a firm deadline of fourteen days from the date of the advertisement's appearance. Should no family members come forward within that period, the government will proceed to have the deceased interred at a public cemetery without further notice. Officials made clear that legal action following a public burial would not be a viable option for families.
The Chief Health Inspector's Office is urging the full cooperation of all affected families during this process.
