ABLP Barbuda candidate Kendra Beazer has announced a scholarship initiative offering 10 University of the West Indies (UWI) Global short course placements for Barbuda residents. According to Antigua News Room, the programme is designed to build skills and strengthen local capacity across the island.

Beazer made the announcement via social media, noting that five of the ten scholarships are specifically reserved for Barbuda Council members. "I'm pleased to announce 10 scholarships for Barbudans to pursue UWI Global Short Courses," she wrote. "5 of these scholarships are reserved for Barbuda Council Members, to strengthen our capacity as we build a Better Barbuda together."

Promotional material accompanying the announcement outlines a broad range of course offerings, including customer service management, entrepreneurship, financial management, human resources, project management and real estate economics.

Classes are scheduled to begin on May 25, 2026. The application deadline is set for May 15, 2026, with interested applicants directed to UWI's local programmes page for further information and a contact number provided for enquiries.

The initiative forms part of Beazer's broader campaign messaging centred on education, workforce development and community leadership in Barbuda.
