ST. JOHN'S, April 22 — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has flatly rejected claims circulating in the public domain that the United States Government has revoked the visa of Prime Minister Gaston Browne.
The Ministry stated unequivocally that the claims are false and entirely without foundation. The U.S. Embassy in Barbados, which holds consular responsibility for Antigua and Barbuda, confirmed there is no basis whatsoever for the suggestion.
The Ministry characterised the circulation of the claim as political mischief, designed to mislead the public and stir unnecessary concern during the current election period.
Antigua and Barbuda and the United States continue to maintain a constructive and collaborative working relationship, the Ministry noted, including on visa and consular matters as well as broader issues of mutual interest.
The Ministry called on all parties to exercise responsibility in public discourse and to refrain from disseminating unfounded and misleading information.
