Three Antiguan fishermen were safely rescued on Monday after their boat suffered a power failure in open waters near the uninhabited island of Redonda.

According to Antigua News Room, the vessel lost power and the crew were left unable to control its movement. An aircraft operating in the waters between Antigua and Montserrat detected the stricken boat and raised the alarm.

Rescue teams based in St. Kitts responded to the distress call and successfully towed the vessel to safety shortly before 4 p.m. All three fishermen were accounted for, and no injuries were reported.
