Two men were taken into police custody early Saturday morning after officers discovered a firearm and ammunition during a routine traffic stop in Willikies, according to Antigua.news.

The incident occurred just before 1 a.m. on April 18, when a patrol unit observed a blue Honda Fit travelling along Willikies Main Road without a front number plate. Officers stopped the vehicle and conducted a search.

The search yielded a 9mm pistol along with seven matching rounds of ammunition.

The two men — aged 25 and 26 and hailing from Willikies and Pares Village respectively — were subsequently arrested. Police have confirmed that inquiries into the matter are ongoing.
