Antigua and Barbuda marked a cultural milestone last Wednesday with its first official observation of World Art Day, drawing praise from the Education Officer (EO) for Visual Arts, who lauded the creativity on display.
According to Antigua Observer, Bernard Peters described the events as a vital step in establishing the arts as a foundation for national development. Peters expressed profound pride in the work produced by students during the landmark occasion.
The celebration was held under a theme centred on the concept of "A Garden of" — reflecting the diversity and growth the arts can bring to the nation's educational and cultural landscape.
Peters' remarks underscored a broader push to elevate the visual arts within Antigua and Barbuda's national development agenda, signalling an institutional commitment to nurturing creative talent from an early age.
