Prime Minister and Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) leader Gaston Browne has confirmed the party will launch its election manifesto today, April 20, at the American University of Antigua — a significant milestone as campaigning intensifies ahead of the general election.
According to Antigua News Room, Browne made the announcement during an appearance on Pointe FM's Browne and Browne Show, confirming the venue and timing of the launch and signalling that the document will serve as a centrepiece of the party's final campaign push.
"The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party manifesto will be launched on Monday, April 20th at the American University of Antigua," Browne stated.
Alongside the announcement, Browne called on voters to ensure they are prepared to participate in the upcoming election, urging the electorate to confirm their voter identification cards are valid ahead of polling day.
The Prime Minister also pointed to what he described as growing momentum behind the ruling party, framing the manifesto launch as part of a broader effort to consolidate support in the campaign's closing days. He did not outline specific policy measures during the broadcast but indicated the document will detail the ABLP's plans for continued development and governance.
Contributors on the programme echoed that optimistic assessment, citing strong attendance at recent political events and increased engagement among younger voters as evidence of the party's organisational strength.
Comrade Donna Shire highlighted activity across constituencies, describing the campaign as energised and well-coordinated, with visible youth participation at events.
