A grassroots survey spanning 16 villages across Antigua has found that infrastructure and the rising cost of food are the top concerns driving voter sentiment ahead of the upcoming General Election, according to Antigua Observer.

The survey, conducted by Sharon N. Simon, reached 60 residents between April 10 and 16, 2026. Of those contacted, 54 responded — representing a 90 percent engagement rate — while six did not participate.

The findings suggest that ordinary Antiguans are placing everyday economic pressures and the state of public infrastructure at the centre of their electoral expectations, signalling a demand for tangible, on-the-ground improvements over political messaging or imagery.

As reported by Antigua Observer, the survey covered communities across 16 villages, offering a broad cross-section of public opinion in the lead-up to the vote.
