The lead investigator in the murder trial of three men accused of killing senior Customs officer Nigel Christian was subjected to rigorous cross-examination on Friday, as defence counsel challenged a series of investigative decisions before the prosecution formally closed its case.

According to Antigua Observer, the accused — Saleim Harrigan, 35, Wayne Thomas, 33, and a third defendant — face charges in connection with the death of Christian, a senior figure in Antigua and Barbuda's Customs division.

Defence counsel used the cross-examination to probe perceived gaps in the investigation, pressing the lead investigator on key decisions made during the course of the inquiry. The questioning came on the same day the prosecution concluded the presentation of its case, marking a significant procedural milestone in the high-profile trial.

As reported by Antigua Observer, the proceedings have drawn considerable public attention given Christian's prominent role as a senior Customs officer. The case now moves forward with the defence expected to respond to the evidence presented by the prosecution throughout the trial.
