The University of the West Indies (UWI) Five Islands Campus has recognised dozens of high-achieving students for outstanding academic performance during the first semester of the 2025–2026 academic year, naming recipients to both the Honour Roll and the prestigious Principal's List.
According to Antigua News Room, the recognition ceremony was held with attendees participating both in person and online. Campus Registrar Dr. Camille Samuel delivered remarks on behalf of Principal Professor Justin Robinson, emphasising that the awards reflect the institution's commitment to student success and its ongoing monitoring of academic progress.
"This evening's ceremony is about recognising your academic excellence," Dr. Samuel said, highlighting the campus's efforts to support student retention and performance.
The Honour Roll recognises students who achieve high grade point averages within a given semester, while the Principal's List is reserved for those who sustain top academic results consistently throughout their programme of study.
Dr. Samuel also issued a challenge to honourees, urging them to view the recognition as a beginning rather than a final destination.
"We will be releasing you into a world that does not reward potential. It rewards execution," she said, encouraging award recipients to channel their academic achievements into meaningful contributions to the broader community.
