More than half of Antigua and Barbuda's eligible voters have completed the replacement of their voter identification cards, the Antigua & Barbuda Electoral Commission has announced. According to Antigua News Room, the Commission's latest official report for April 2026 shows steady nationwide progress, with most constituencies surpassing the 55% completion threshold.
St Peter is leading the country with an 87% completion rate, followed by Barbuda at 76% and St Philip North at 75%. At the lower end of the scale, St Mary's North and St John's Rural West have each crossed the halfway mark, recording completion rates of 54% and 55% respectively.
The Commission reported a total of 29,427 applications processed to date, including 6,076 completed during April alone. Weekly figures for the period of 12–18 April show 2,105 replacement applications completed, with activity concentrated in the earlier part of the week.
Daily data reveals that 13 April saw the highest single-day turnout, with 793 applications processed. That was followed by 605 applications on 14 April and 501 on 15 April. The report recorded no activity between 16 and 18 April.
Beyond replacements, 257 new voter registration applications were also recorded during the same week.
The data points to stronger performance across both urban and rural constituencies in St John's, with St John's Rural West and All Saints West among those posting some of the highest weekly totals.
The Electoral Commission has not announced a deadline for the programme but continues to urge all eligible voters to complete the replacement process as the exercise moves closer to full national coverage.
