Foreign Affairs Minister E. P. Chet Greene has outlined plans to significantly expand healthcare services in St. Paul's, including the development of dedicated eye care and dental clinics aimed at improving access to medical treatment within the community.

According to Antigua News Room, Greene made the announcement during a meet-and-greet with constituents, where he confirmed that an expanded clinic is already taking shape, with specialized services set to follow in subsequent phases.

"We have an expanding new clinic that comes to us," Greene told residents, pointing to ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery across the constituency.

The minister said the next phase of development will focus on specialized care, with both eye and dental services designed to reduce the need for residents to travel outside the area for treatment.

"We will build an eye-care clinic," Greene said, adding that equipment has already been secured to support what he described as "a first-class, world-class eye health clinic."

Greene also confirmed plans for a dental clinic to complement the expansion, framing both facilities as part of a broader medical hub for the St. Paul's area.

"We also intend… a dental clinic. So when you have the… a dental clinic, what we have is a compact, a medical compact, which will serve all of the people here in the St. Paul area," he said.

Greene stated that the projects are intended to improve accessibility and strengthen community-based care as demand for health services continues to grow. He added that the initiatives will advance as part of post-election development planning, with healthcare remaining a central priority.

The proposals come as residents continue to raise concerns about access to services. The planned facilities are expected to ease pressure on existing healthcare infrastructure and improve health outcomes for people living in the constituency.
