The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) Water Business Unit has entered the final phase of its mainline upgrade project along Newgate Street in the St. John's Point area, with work spanning from the location formerly known as Barnes Funeral Home to Cross Street.

The upgrade involves the installation of HDPE pipes along the corridor. Motorists and road users should expect temporary delays during the works, and sections of the roadway may be temporarily inaccessible to motor vehicles. Drivers travelling through the area are urged to proceed with caution.

APUA acknowledged the disruptions caused by the project, particularly to the road surface, and confirmed it is in communication with the Ministry of Works regarding restoration efforts once the upgrade is complete.

The authority expressed appreciation for the patience and cooperation of the public as it works to complete the infrastructure upgrade.
